Best Hostess Gift Ever!

So, last night we hosted a big fun party. Food, drinks, CAKE, good friends, great conversation, good times.

When you are the host of the big fun party, occasionally people come to your door bearing a nice gift…some token of thanks. Those who know me know that I’m always more than happy to receive a bottle of wine, I love flowers, chocolate and bourbon are no brainers.

Well, last night, Dan and Theresa hit one out of the park! Behold, the Best Hostess Gift Ever!

My very own Idiot’s Kitchen Plate!

Dan and Theresa own one of those great paint your own pottery shops. The kind where people like me (and my relatives) go and paint beautiful and highly creative cat bowls…and other cool pottery pieces.

Dan (who is certainly the most creative former NYPD officer I’ve ever met) made me this awesome plate with the Idiot’s Kitchen logo!

I LOVE IT!

Because it was dark in my kitchen this morning when I was trying to take these pictures, and people who actually have good photos on their food blogs and do “food styling” are always saying to take things outside to photograph them in natural light, I took the new plate out to the patio to get some better photos.

And this is why we can’t have natural light on this particular blog.

Thanks Dan and Theresa! I’ll be down to make my Grandma-style light up ceramic tree very soon.

(Yes, I’m totally serious about that…it’s not all cat dishes, you know.)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone!

(one more cookie recipe to go!)

  1. I LOVE this so much. What a sweet and thoughtful gift…..and that to me might even be better than wine. MIGHT. 🙂
You know I love those paint your own pottery places….but I’ve never thought to make a cat bowl. I know. Shockers.
I bet your party was all sorts of fun because YOU are all sorts of fun.
Merry Be-lated Christmas and Happy new year!!!!
    XOXO
