The Pretty in Pink Smoothie!
This movie actually showed up on my TV a couple of days after I made this smoothie so the name stuck.
I also got sucked into watching the end of the movie for the millionth time…making the dress, big fight with that jerk Blane, and of course the famous prom scene.
Ah, the heart of the 80s. Good stuff.
Also good stuff? This smoothie!
Here’s what you need:
Banana (optional), Cherries, Raspberries, Strawberries, Greek Yogurt, and Vanilla Almond Milk.

Also optional is the Healthy Seed Trio…what I like to call my Smoothie Extras of Chia, Hemp, and Flax Seeds.
I almost always use flax seeds in every smoothie. The hemp I like better in green smoothies because they have more of a grassy flavor. Chia seeds don’t seem to have much flavor but they do and protein and tend to make the smoothies super thick.
That being said, the raspberries in this smoothie are already pretty seedy, so if seeds bug you either skip the extra seeds or be sure you really blend this until it’s ultra smooth.
I usually add the banana if I’m hungry and am trying to make this my whole breakfast.
Build the smoothie in a strong blender or in what has quickly become my favorite kitchen gadget, a NutriBullet Blender.
For 2 (16 oz. pint glass) size smoothies, I use 1 banana, 1 cup of strawberries, 1/2 cup raspberries, and 6-8 big frozen cherries.
(Smoothie ingredient amounts are never exact at my house but this is a pretty close approximation.)
Add about 1 cup of vanilla almond milk, the seeds if you’re using them (1 Tablespoon of each), and about 3/4 cup of plain Greek yogurt.
By using a combo of fresh and frozen fruit, I can skip adding ice cubes to get the smoothie cold.
Screw on the top and blend away.

I’m not a big fan of cherry flavor (unless I am eating fresh cherries, then all bets are off) but this does look good.
Karen, I don’t like cherry flavor either unless it is a bright read cherry lifesaver. Cherry pie filling? Nope. No way. However, these frozen cherries are the big, dark ones. Very much like taking a super ripe bing cherry and freezing it sans pit. They’re great in smoothies and don’t have that sickening sweet fake cherry flavor at all. I’m totally with you on that one!
