Thanksgiving Recipes – Everything you need to know!

Last year, I put together a pretty comprehensive list of all the Idiot’s Kitchen Thanksgiving recipes:

Click here for the link to “How to Have an Idiot-Proof Thanksgiving.”

There is also a Pinterest Board full of Idiot’s Kitchen Thanksgiving recipes if you are the pinning type.

I recently had a friend ask about making the turkey in the cooking bag as pictured above. The short answer is YES!

It really is a stress free and pretty fool proof way to cook the bird. No basting, no fussing…just moist, tender turkey with lots of juice for gravy!

As I mentioned on Monday, I’m not one to really stray too far from tradition on this particular holiday. However, there have been a few recent additions that I’m thinking about for side dishes.

You might want to consider Braised Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta.

Scalloped Corn is HIGH on my list this year.

If you have Gluten Free friends coming over, why not surprise them with an Apple Crisp!

I might try to make a Gluten Free pie crust. I’ll keep you posted.

I also thought I’d make my mom’s glazed carrots this year. Recipe coming soon!

And don’t forget the world’s BEST Sweet Potato Casserole!

I haven’t done one iota of shopping yet so there’s still time to add to the menu!

What are your Thanksgiving favorites?

It’s also Hanukkah so maybe I’ll have to add some latkes this year!

Enjoy the day, friends. As always, I am thankful for YOU!

  1. The basics. I’ve learned not to mess with what my guys like. Turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, green beans (with french fried onions), green salad, cranberry sauce. We are having a discussion about the pies this year. Usually we make pumpkin and apple, but there will be only 3 of us so two pies seem like overkill. I don’t know. I am a fan of pie for breakfast so we may still make 2.

  2. Thanks for posting your faves Claudia! I’m loving the corn and the brussel sprout recipes. I’ve still not got our menu together; will do that after my people arrive from GA tonight!
    Love that orange cat!!!! 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
    XOXO
