Oh boy, it’s Monday.

Not quite 5:00 here, but I could sure use one of these.

Margaritas don’t have to be filled with all those mixers from the store. Three simple ingredients — 4 if you use salt, and you can be ready to relax and kick back after your hard day.

Here’s what you need:

Tequilla, Triple Sec or other Orange Liqueur, Limes. Salt for the rim if that’s your thing.

Generally, I prefer to make Margaritas with Gold Tequilla and either Cointreau or Grand Marnier. But these were plenty good with what was in the cabinet and on the lime tree.

Squeeze a few limes. Real, fresh, green limes not that bottled stuff.

It helps if you have a shaker but if not a large glass or even measuring cup will do the trick.

Add ice.

Now add equal parts….tequilla…

Orange liqueur….

and lime juice.

Shake, shake, shake…..shake, shake, shake

My apologies if you now have KC and the Sunshine Band stuck in your head.

Now, the important decision. Do you like your Margarita Up?

Or on the rocks? With salt or without?

Major Monday improvement.

(Yes, that’s my glass in front that’s half full.)

Cheers!

Back in a few days with real food you can eat.
